Privacy and access
Jamii Projects Hub keeps public information, group records, and private finance records separate. Public visitors can browse projects, download blank forms, submit a project idea, and request access — but they cannot view private dashboards. For the full governance documents, see Governance & data protection.
What we collect
The details you or your group provide — names, contact details, group and project information, contributions, meetings, and any documents your group uploads — plus a record of who recorded each action.
Why we collect it
To help groups keep accurate, transparent records of money, meetings, decisions, and projects, and to make accountability possible.
Who can see it
Access is role-based. Private finance and member records are limited to authorised roles. The public only sees projects a group has chosen to make visible — never phone numbers, member lists, or finance records.
How access is reviewed
Roles are assigned by admins, not self-selected. Sensitive actions are recorded in an audit log, and access can be reviewed or withdrawn.
Public vs private
Public: the landing page, blank forms, and projects marked visible. Private: member records, contributions ledgers, receipts, finance reports, member and loan statements, and uploaded documents.
Corrections & requests
You can ask what data is held about you and request corrections or deletion. During the pilot, contact your group admin or the Jamii coordinator. See your data rights.
How long we keep records
Records are kept while a group is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Financial and audit records are append-only and voided rather than erased, to protect accountability. See data retention.
Disputes & removals
Members are not removed or rejected silently. Removals and rejections require a reason and a record, and sensitive removals require additional review.
Controlled pilot area
The pilot is being prepared around Mbeere North in Evurore, Muminji, and Nthawa. Sample records used during testing must be verified before live group use.
